I will be participating in two local book fairs in August 2025, offering for sale my three publications: The Blue Room, a novel; You Can’t Get Blood from a Turnip, a collection of poetry; and I’ve Got Your Back, non-fiction.
The first event, 2nd Friday, Brunswick, is scheduled for August 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in downtown Brunswick, located on Pleasant Street.
My friend and fellow writer, Nancy Collins, who has recently published a memoir entitled The Perfectly Imperfect Potter, will join me for this event. We’ll sell our books, visit with shoppers and other vendors, and enjoy the culture of Brunswick. Please plan to stop by as you explore the offerings by local artists, writers, musicians, and actors.

The second event is scheduled for August 23 at the Maine Book Festival, held at the Thomaston Public Library in Thomaston, Maine.
Please join me and other Maine authors, and share this with your friends!

Congratulations!!!You must be pleased to be part of these events.Good luck

This is so wonderful Moriah! I wish I could be there to support you and enjoy seeing all the support and praise I’m sure you will be receiving. Congratulations on your hard work bearing so much fruit. I’m attending a reading at a local small bookstore by a long time friend and mentor who now lives out here: Bob Macauley is a pediatric palliative care doc and ethicist as well as an Episcopal priest! Over-achiever for sure. He also did narrative medicine as I did but he has now published a book focusing on the kids who were his patients.
I am working on my writing project one section at a time. It is so emotionally difficult. That things move slowly. In telling the story to a friend I realized I needed to start the story at when I got married and at least an overview of the years before John was murdered. That was emotional too! Re-living happy times and necessarily acknowledging how life could have been was hard. Now I am starting into the sections leading up to his death. I will carry on. Who knows what will happen to it but even if it is just for Juliana and Bella that will be enough.
I have joined the North West Writers Association—lots of resources and teachings. They had a big conference in Seattle I was tempted to attend but the cost stopped me. Plus I think it might be too early in this process. Maybe next year.
May you and SF have a wonderful end of summer. I am eating lots of green beans from the garden and still planting.
Lots of love to you both, Diana

Thank you, Diana! And all the best with your writing project. I am looking forward to reading it. Writer’s associations are wonderful. I belong to one here in Maine and have benefited from many excellent workshops and other resources. It will serve you well. I’ll pass your greetings on to Sarah Faith. Dalene and her partner moved in here this week. We haven’t met them yet but are looking forward to it. Enjoy the fruit of your garden!
with love,
